Brightwell Barrow
The wonderful Brightwell Barrow (or Barrow Hill) in South Oxfordshire. I have photographed this wonderful little hill many times and it always delivers against the flat landscape that surrounds it. It is part of the Sinodun Hills that also comprises of the two hills at Wittenham Clumps which is featured in my galleries. The barrow is a scheduled monument and is believed to date back to the bronze age.
It has been featured in many artworks, notably Paul Nash who adored the area and more recently by Anna Dillon who has produced some wonderful works.
